5th Grade Math

The 2016-2017 school year will be my 25th  year to teach and my 20th year with CISD.  I love math, and I want my students to feel the same way I do.  Math really can be fun! I am so excited about this year, and I look forward to working with each and every one of my students.

Parents, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have during the year. Please call the front office should you wish to schedule a parent/teacher conference.

The quickest way to contact me is through my email address at the link above. I look forward to our partnership in your child's education!
Please come prepared for class each day. Always bring your binder, math spiral, math review booklet, grading pen, pencils, planner, an any assignment due that day.
  Major assignments (tests/projects) - 60% of grade
Daily assignments (quizes/homework (averaged for one daily grade) - 40% of grade

Late work policy - 10 pts. off per day - after 3 days, a zero has been earned for that assignment.
Classroom Rules
                                                   Wait your turn..
                                                   Always be prepared.
                                                   Listen carefully.
                                                   Learn everything possible.
                                                   In your seat.
                                                   Never shout out.
Give your best.  Never settle for anything less!
Communicator Chart
Each child has a communicator page/conduct sheet.  Infractions of classroom or school rules will result in a mark being placed on your child's page.  The sum of the marks results in the letter received on the Tuesday folder page each week.  These marks, averaged together, are used for conduct received each nine weeks on the report card. The communicator chart is not only used for conduct but for effort and the ability to be prepared for class on a daily basis (responsibility).
        No Marks = Excellent (E)
        1 - 2 Marks = Satisfactory (S)
       3 - 4 Marks = Needs Improvement (NI)
        5 + Marks = Unsatisfactory (U)
